HOLY COW!!

Its been a month since I've posted to here. Well here is the update - we STILL have NO House technically. The house itself is in the "vacinity" waiting for its foundation to be complete. The walls are poured and will hopefully be backfilled by the end of the week. There is Still SOOOO much that needs to be done.

While we are awaiting the arrival of our new home - we have been very busy lumpng up all the trees that have been cleared to make way for the house. I can now say that I've learned to drive a tractor and that I'm a master at hauling wood.

On the crochet front - I have finished my nieces sweater for christmas and a Buffalo Bills blanket for my father (I will get pictures eventually) I have been working from graphs lately and love them. I would recommend that everyone try it at least once.

WOW I can't believe it has been so long since I last posted. Here is the update. Oldest son is now a licensed NY driver - He is thrilled - but says I'm way too much of a worry wart.

We have closed on our property and now have one big hole in the ground. Our footings should be in by the end of the week and our house should be delived by Next Friday!!! We are moving ever so slowly toward a new home :)

On the crochet front - we have been very busy working on squares for survivors, and crochetville SP reveal presents and am continuing my holdiay gifts. I wish sometimes I could clone myself to get more done :)

Anyway that is the update for now! I promise more pictures and updates to come.

Well where do I start

Our house will be here in about 3 weeks (whoo hoo). the foundation will be started this weekend AND I just finished up some Halloween Goodies. Take a look

WE HAVE WATER!!!

I'm so very excited. We received word yesterday that the well is now drilled, they hit water the first time around :). We should have a foundation soon!

I am busy working on items for Katrina victims as well as some thread crochet for the upcoming holidays - I can't believe that all the retail stores are already getting ready for halloween. Time flys so quickly.

It's the first day of school!!

YEAH - The kids are off to school, we may be able to close on our old house tomorrow (just waiting for confirmation) AND our well may be dug at the property this week!!. TODAY is a great day!! Mom's all over the upstate NY area are dancing in the streets. The phrases "MOM I'm bored. Mom, there is nothing to do. Mom, when are we eating. Mom, can't we do something. Mom, are we there yet." I almost changed my name to anything but Mom this summer. :)

Happy times for moms - not so happy for kids. But everyone will adjust. The weather is perfect and there is a touch of Autumn in the air up here. Over the weekend I finished my first set of 6 golf club covers AND received a very nice package from my crochetville secret pal. She picked everything perfectly for my new master bath.

Another Project ALMOST COMPLETE!! and still no Water!

Well my autumn skirt is almost complete, except that when I tried it on - it didn't fit :( It appears as if either the yarn shrunk or I grew by a few pounds!! Nothing a little dieting can't fix!

This was made using peaches and cream that I had laying around. It will look wonderful with a pair of boots and denim jacket!!

No well yet on the property - too much rain made the access road to mucky - so we are waiting, and waiting!!

Its finally finished!!!

I while back I started the Peach Sensation Poncho that was in the last edition of Crochet! magazine. I had a humdoodle of a time trying to figure out how to finish it. It wasn't until I read a recent post from the designer in regards to her first published pattern that I realized it was the SAME one I was working on. Of course I contacted the designer and got all my questions answered.

Lesson of the story - if something just doesn't seem correct - it probably isn't. Contact the designer. :)

Well Work is finally beginning

Just received word that the Well driller wil be at our property tomorrow or Thursday depending on the weather - its raining, raining, raining here. We are keeping our hopes up though that the truck can get through the mud (its a sea of mud and muck right now) and dig the well and find water. We'll know in a few days. Once this is finished, then the real work can begin :) WHOO HOO. At least there is some forward movement.

On the crochet front - I finished my 12" square for an exchange and a flower for another exchange. I have 1 kitchen set ready for a new kitchen exchange, and 1 dishcloth for another exchange. I finished our Nana's doily for her birthday. I need to block it then I'll post pictures. I finished 2 really cute hats but gave them away to a girl at work for her daughter and to my BFs neice - who wore the hat to the Averill Levine (spelling?) concert because she liked it so much.

I have been spoiling my Crochetville Secret Pal - who if she is reading this - will know who I am :) SURPIRSE!!! LOL.

I would love to post the buttons on this thing but can't figure it out :( - UPDATE - I figured it out - WHOO HOOO

Whelp! we made it through another weekend

Friday we pulled our camper (still unorganized with all our wordly possessions) to our new property for the weekend. I had my doubts that we would get the 31 1/2 foot monster up the hill but the bigg old Ford deisel didn't let us down. I let my DBF down - because I wasn't paying attention to where he was backing up our monster and ended up WAY too close to a tree. After many attempts of pulling ahead and backing up - the monster finally found its resting spot in an area that was cleared for the well and eventually most of the house (a lot more land to clear) . Saturday morning we awoke - started the generator so the batteries on the monster wouldn't die and I set to work on overhauling the belly of the beast. I took everything out of every cabinet, nook and cranny sorted and restocked all nooks and crannies. I can happily say that I know where everything is in that beast. DBF was looking for something and asked where did you put such-and-such. I could say - "Such-and-such is in this cabinet, on the "insert shelf number here" on the right or left, behind "the other such-an-such". I think everyong gets the picture..

Saturday, darling Boy Friend - spent most of his day cleaning out the sencond part of the shed - laying down the floor and burning wood/items that we no longer needed - plus any downed trees he could easily get to.

As I was cleaning Saturday, our new neighbor stopped over to intoduce herself. She scared the beegeezes out of me (do bee's have geezes???) . She is a very nice lady - whose kids just happened to go to high school with DBF so it was like a reunion of sorts.












I managed to get in some crochet time before dinner on Saturday, and almost finished my doily when DBFs parents arrived as a surprise. Mom is concerned because of the very steep hill on the way into the house and also concerned because she says we are totally out in the "wilderness" and can't imagine how life will be up there. We tried to assure her - but I don't think it worked.

Sunday - it rained and rained. - I did manage to finish my doily and to finish a flower for a swap I am in (WHOO HOOO) I accomplished a few things on my list other than sorting and cleaning.
The rain let up just enough so that DBF could almost finish putting the floor in on the other side of the shed and we managed to clear out a few piles of "things" laying about. There was definately a sense of accomplishment Sunday afternoon. We had dinner with the folks and went for icecream before I turned back to crochet. I'm finding out that I have to increase my hook size for all patterns that have gauges (I guess I just crochet too tightly). We finally settled down to watch a movie about 9:30 - Monster in law - I highly recommend it as it was very very funny.

This blog thing is the bees knees (if bees have knees???) I'm sure they would be thrilled.

OK so This is my first post - haven't been doing much crocheting - been busy moving and packing in preparation for our new house.
